@michaelblight – As you say, it creates a mirror profile, but implementing changes is also easy and ideal for a shared environment where changes can be quickly undone :-)

Windows SteadyState is absolute rubbish. I have been developing software for 30 years and have rarely seen something this bad. At its simplest, you have a mirror of the profile that every time you log on, the system copies the mirror over the original. In reality you want to turn it off and on so you can make modest changes to the profile. Then it all goes horribly wrong and you get into a deadlock where you can no longer edit the profile. Stay away!

@MrDrwhoforever – It works in most cases :-)

  5. MrDrwhoforever says:

ok cheers i’ll try and let you know what happens

  6. cotojo1253 says:

@MrDrwhoforever – Nice one. It was just a thought if you use it on Windows 7 :-)
    Happy New Year :-)

  7. MrDrwhoforever says:

i do not need to uninstall cos my 30 days start again at every reboot

  8. cotojo1253 says:

@MrDrwhoforever – Use RevoUnunstaller to uninstall your game trial, use the Advanced Mode and delete only the BOLD entries, you should then be able to reinstall the game :-)

  9. MrDrwhoforever says:

from what i have read online they do not plan to add support for Windows 7 anytime soon as for my game trial the 30 day trial starts again every day i’ve checked

  10. cotojo1253 says:

@ MrDrwhoforever – Sadly, at present it does not support Windows 7. I have Win 7 Pro and use the virtual machine with XP Pro which allows ‘undo’ or ‘apply’ changes which suits me as I download malware frequently :-)

  11. MrDrwhoforever says:

i found out it does not work with windows 7 so i reinstalled xp on my laptop and vista on my desktop and now its works wonders on both cheers

  12. cotojo1253 says:

@ MrDrwhoforever – What OS are you using it on? And have you set the restrictions as outlined in the video?

  13. MrDrwhoforever says:

im now using Windows Steady State and find when i turn on windows disc protection its tell me i need to restart and when i do i check and find its turned off again pls help

  14. cotojo1253 says:

@ MrDrwhoforever – You will if you select ‘Continue and remove all changes’ when rebooting or closing down. If you need to save some changes, uninstall the game with revouninstaller first – it’s also free :-)

  15. MrDrwhoforever says:

if i install a game trial when i reboot will i get the 30 days trial again

  16. cotojo1253 says:

yewtubepl0x – yes I do use it, that way I can import malware and clear it simply by rebooting :-)
Every program I test I use for a while to see how it reacts, apart from malware when I look for solutions to remove it :-)

  17. mrrotweiler2 says:

hehe yes prob a good idea ^^

  18. yewtubepl0x says:

one more question, do you use this? i know i ask that alot with alot of your reviews…

  19. cotojo1253 says:

mrrotweiler2 – Yes I know lol, but I keep it nice and simple if I can :-)

  20. cotojo1253 says:

yewtubepl0x – I will be reviewing Avast 5 when the beta is released and I have run it for a while through various malware sites and programs :-)

  21. mrrotweiler2 says:

one can use this without ever connecting to micro$ofts site(s) but thats another story :)

  22. yewtubepl0x says:

Nice review cotojo, are you planning to review/test the avast 5 beta coming in the next week or two?
