@MFfan310 , well i still prefer the mozilla cuz i like it. nowadays ie could really be an option.(sry for bad english)

  2. MFfan310 says:

@bonzefan95 Though, to be fair, it has come a long way from the days of IE6.

  3. bonzefan95 says:

    @therealnemini , thats so true, ie sucks…

  4. TheGeekLady says:

LMAO ! thats great, but – doesnt have much to do with ie8 now does it !? use your head to avoid being scammed – not yr browser !

  5. darknesswarrior96 says:

I like how they make Mozilla look like the faulty browser. Pause at 0:09 and see that the browser is Mozilla. I still like Opera and IE better, Mozilla SUCKS.

  6. seinormexicano says:

No internet browser will ever fix stupidity, especially IE.

  7. mahirharoon says:

funny that microsoft was brave enough to advertise on their rivals service

  8. TheWiiZone says:

    I’m waiting for Firefox 4 :)

  9. BGH122 says:

This advert is beyond a joke. This is like hiring a full police unit and building with identification, arresting people off the street, trying them in a seemingly legitimate court of law and then sending them to jail and screaming “HAHA got ya! See, this is just like one of those emails which says that if you don’t respond immediately you’ll get in trouble!!!”

The fact is, you’ve got to be pretty damn Luddite to fall for most online scams, this advert makes them seem like Machiavellian plots.

  10. CrossScofield says:

    I’m too

  11. kriss3d says:

@EpsilonVector Exactly. With a bank like that one. What would you look for in order to avoid getting scammed ?

Seeing through a website would be a helluva lot easier than an actual building like that. Id properbly fall for it. 500$ isnt alot to get a new costumer. Many betting sites in my contry will offer you somthing like 100$ if you sign up with them. And with some american banks giving you a riffle for signing up.. Well. Its impossible to spot that as a scam.

  12. kriss3d says:

@sbilfer Actually. Except some of the more questionable questions. Such as asking for DNA sample. What would differ their bank from any other bank ?
I live in Denmark but they also want my Social security number.
Yes its possible to fraud people. But how exactly are people supposed to see through this one ?

  13. sbilfer says:

Microsoft knows their are lots of dumb people in the world willing to give out their personal information. Their the people using Internet Explorer.

  14. criticaljimmk says:

wow internet explorer is so cool , makes me wanna light fires in peoples yards

  15. chixxgirl2 says:

@Ominus666 huh…..like i said im happy with my IE8..i also have chrome but i use IE

  16. EpsilonVector says:

@HollandSentinel Actually it’s a good comparison. The reason people fall for scams is because they can’t tell the difference between a legit site/email and a shady one. To them, the site/email looked as official and convincing as the fake building looked to those people in the commercial. The message is that you can be fooled by a good fake even if you think you are “street (web) smart”, so you need something like IE to protect you.

  17. EpsilonVector says:

@Amidity the reason people fall for internet scams is exactly the same reason people fell for the commercial’s scam- most people don’t know how to tell the difference between a legit site and a shady one. The analogy is correct. When clueless people see a phishing site it looks as legit to them as the fake buildings looked in real life, not as legit as some guy with a booth.

  18. EpsilonVector says:

@kamisakea This is not illegal as they weren’t really addressing Firefox (subliminal doesn’t count).

  19. EpsilonVector says:

@joshylord Actually as far as Safari being the safest: on the Pwn2Own contest it was the first browser to be hacked (other participants were Firefox and IE) in two consecutive events.

  20. Ominus666 says:

@chixxgirl2 Yeah, the whole 30 seconds it takes to download and the 1 minute it takes to install just blocks off huge chunks of your life, amirite?

  21. gregsedwards says:

Look really closely at time on the screen shot at the end of the video. 9:11 PM. Subliminal tactic to unsettle security conscious viewers?

  22. WilliF86 says:

Good idea. But nevertheless, advertising IE should be a crime. :)

  23. ngyikp says:

    0:09
    lol, firefox and itunes :p

  24. kieranshalleytv says:

Awesome ad (for once) but I’d use Chrome, Firefox even Safari over IE anyday.

  25. pzmtuthcvpvl says:

Would there be any interest in a browser using a lizard named Mad Dog 20/20 as it’s theme?
