UNfortunately since the unexpected success of the relaunched Dr WHo all BBC sci-fantasy drama has been homegenised and you can count off the features using a checklist –
drumming music bed to create faux ‘tension’ – check
muted lighting with fluorescent washout – check
dialogue/exposition limited to 3mins per piece – check
scene change marked by explosive sound effects – check
cast too good looking to care about – check
minority ethnic cast members in unimportant roles – check

    …!

    @TheCyberToad LOL.

I’v never read the book, but I’ve seen the old version of this AND the new version. This one is COMPLETELY different, but it is still good. Different doesn’t necissarily = Absoulte crap, you sentimentat idiots. (Although Titanic 2 is ABSOLUTE BALLS.)

  4. evee44 says:

@TheVrael It is still a good storyline.

  5. TheVrael says:

WARNING DON’T WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU EXPECTED SOMETHING LIKE THE BOOK its like they took the story of trifids escaping and made a new story around that with nothing in common with the book :)

    good movie :)

    @biggest23
I couldn’t agree more. It’s as if the BBC have gone out of their way to make a challenging, many-layered classic into a cliche-laden pile of dog poo. The triffids have gained brawn, but lost all their ‘brains’.
    WyndhamWeb.

  10. PNETriffid says:

My god, how could the BBC take such a thought-provoking original and turn it into patronising, mindless nonsense? Ps. Does anybody seriously think Eddie Izzard can act? For intelligent analysis of Wyndham’s many classics I suggest WyndhamWeb, the internet’s first dedicated John Wyndham site.

watched this ages ago. it was awesome

  12. EvilMuppet1979 says:

I loved this. It was much better than the 1981 version.

  13. biggest23 says:

The politest thing I can think to say about this collection of poorly crafted and ill conceived series of action sequences is that the makers quite obviously inhale the flatulence from deceased canines rectums.

    It is fucking dire.

  14. aussierigger says:

Remember reading the book a long time ago…should be interesting…

  15. SplinterCell37 says:

I loved this. It was very entertaining. I haven’t read the original so I had open expectations and was very pleasantly surprised :)

    IT IS STUPID

  17. Mellenzz95 says:

the day of the triffids FREAKED ME OUT xD im not a good scary film person… i hate it when the ppl get whipped GUYS THE MIDDLE AND END HAS THE ACTION and HORROR

  18. cassandracollins says:

Yeah my extra “a” is as funny as your comment ” only joking im just dont know” which makes as much sense as your lack of punctuation skills. Don’t try and be clever when your writing is worse than mine. I seriously meant that you are stupid for saying what you said.

  19. vampirelawd says:

I just keep thinking Mission Impossible 2….
    Youuuu shouuuld haaave killleeed meeee….

    xD
Thought Triffids was an awesome series, it whet my appetite for series 2 of survivors!

  20. cassandracollins says:

You can’t replace Dr. Who, it is the longest running Sci. Fi. series ever!

  21. eldeano1 says:

I don’t quite understand, but I sense heavy elements of irony from your statement due to the fact there was a mistake in a repetition of an “a” where it serves no purpose and I don’t think you used this on purpose to add humor to the statement.

Lol, only joking im just dont know much about sci fi stuff and i thought Doctor Who was ending so this seems like a decent enough sci fi show to replace doctor who.

  22. cassandracollins says:

Did you take a stupid a pill today?

  23. cassandracollins says:

You can download the torrent and watch it. Are you living under a rock?

  24. flygrace says:

    Sorry, but it was atrocious.

  25. maddalicex says:

For those who can actually read: THIS IS ONE-OFF SHOW – NOT A SERIES.
